This page is short because the site stores one thing. Most cookie policies are long because they describe every category a site might one day use; this one describes what is there now.
The one stored item
Your answer to the cookie notice, held in local storage in your own browser. It contains a single word, it identifies nobody, and it never leaves your device. Without it, the notice would reappear on every page, which is a worse experience for everyone including people who declined.
Categories, and the state of each
- Strictly necessary — active. The consent answer above, and nothing else.
- Measurement — not active. If page counting is added later it will sit behind Accept all, and this page will be updated before it runs.
- Advertising — not active and not planned. This site carries no advertising and belongs to no ad network.
Because the second and third categories are dormant, pressing Reject all produces exactly the same site as pressing Accept all. Both buttons are shown regardless, since offering a notice with no genuine choice would be dishonest.
Notifications
The notification service (OneSignal) loads on every page and keeps a small record of its own in your browser so it knows whether you have been asked yet. A push subscription is only created if you tick the box on a form and then allow notifications in the browser prompt. Declining, or clearing site data, removes it and nothing else on the site changes.
Removing the stored answer
Clear site data for ostervaine.com and the notice returns next visit, where you can answer differently.

- Safari on iOS. Settings, then Safari, then Advanced, then Website Data.

- Edge. Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
In private browsing the item is discarded when the window closes, which is why the notice appears every time in that mode.
Third-party cookies
This site sets none. The content delivery network in front of it may set a technical cookie for security purposes while serving the page, which is described in the privacy policy. Store listings you open from here are governed by Google's or Apple's practices, not this page.
Privacy signals from your browser
Since nothing that would need consent is loaded before consent is given, a Do Not Track header or global privacy control signal already describes the default behaviour of this site. Should measurement ever be introduced, such a signal will be read as a refusal and you will not be asked again.
